The Sweet Satisfying Companionship

Part 1

Psalms 25:14 (AMP)

The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.

The Sweet Satisfying Companionship of The Lord...WOW... When I first read this verse from the Amplified Bible I sat stunned. It took a few minutes to absorb. Really, I can experience an intimacy with The Lord that is sweet and satisfying? I have quoted the verse that says, "taste and see that The Lord is good", but never realized the profoundness of the meaning. I can not only experience Him but  be satisfied with Him. Every longing, every void, He Satisfies.

But what really touched me is the word "Companionship". Now that takes two...The verse states, "the Sweet Satisfying Companionship "OF" THE LORD". He shares in this too. He find US sweet and satisfying. In The Movie, "Chariots of Fire" Eric Little makes this statement to his sister that I am always reminded of, he said, "God made me fast, and when I run, I feel His pleasure". Can it be true, The Creator of the heavens and the earth, the one who the stars bow down to and stand at their post and rejoice finds pleasure in me! Yes, If I pursue Him in the "Secret Place".

The Sweet Satisfying Companionship

Part 2

Psalms 25:14 (AMP)

The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.

Secrets, they are great when you are in on it, but not so great when you are not included. I have found that secrets themselves can be good or bad. Most of the time secrets are things that we keep in the dark, we don't want anyone to know, it might be between two or more people or just kept secret to one’s self. It is always in the dark that the Adversary does his best work. James tells us to walk in the LIGHT. In Psalm 25:14 the SECRET here is not in the dark but is found in God Himself. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. The Father longs for that "Sweet Satisfying Companionship" with us that He can say, "Child, come with me, I want to show you something". It is a place that He reveals to us that which is most obvious but hidden from the eyes of those that are oblivious of Him". When we are in companionship with someone we feel safe to begin sharing things about ourselves that we might never share with others. With The Father, it is no different. He longs to share with us a revelation of Himself that few know, because few are willing to seek Him in The Secret Place.
